I read the Jan. 31 front page article on the Meade Township turbine debate with special attention to the per month surcharge. In other words, the homeowners and taxpayers of Meade Township will be charged every month on their electric bill to pay for these windmills.
This is absolutely disgusting and unconscionable to me. This, to me, is a direct response of the George Bush chicken little, the sky is falling energy independence overreaction after 9/11 that the Bush administration got us into, which included two wars and solar and wind subsidies. The latter was supposed to keep us energy independent.
I hope and support the Meade Township residents’ attempt to turn the turbines down and any movement that limits or removes the existing disgusting, ugly, worthless subsidized windmills in Huron County.
