Opponents to a proposed wind farm in LBO land got an early Christmas present today (Tuesday) when it was announced that the Government had rejected the scheme.
Jubiliant campaigners learned that following an eight-day hearing in the summer into the four Dorcas Lane turbines planned for Stoke Hammond, Government inspector, Ms Jessica Graham, had recommended the scheme be rejected.
Her report was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, who was expected to announce his decision in early 2015.
That verdict however was handed down slightly sooner than anticipated to the delight of the Stop Dorcas Lane Turbines group.
The decision followed an appeal by Force 9 Energy and EDF against Aylesbury Vale District Council’s refusal of planning permission.
More in the December 30 issue of the LBO.
