Appeal launched after wind turbine plans near Glastonbury refused

Central Somerset Gazette | December 19, 2014 | www.centralsomersetgazette.co.uk

An inquiry will be made into the refusal of planning permission in West Pennard.

Frank Naish applied to build two 11kw wind turbines and associated sub-station building at Piltown Farm, Piltown, but Mendip District Council rejected the application.

Following a High Court challenge to the inspector’s decision the court ordered the appeal be re-determined.

This does not necessarily mean the inspector will reach a different overall decision about the appeal.

The appeal will be re-determined following an inquiry at a later date.

The public may attend the inquiry and, at the inspectors discretion, will be allowed to present any views they have on the matter.
