Not in my back yard

Letter, 12/12: Not in my back yard | The Lincoln Journal Star | journalstar.com

The Volkswind proposed Wind Farm in southern Lancaster County and northern Gage County is absolutely ridiculous (“Volkswind USA says wind farm project will advance without Hallam turbine,” Oct. 8)! I’m tired of hearing the excuse”not in my backyard!” Who in this country would want 54 approximately 450-foot-tall turbines in their backyard? There is a place for these turbines, but why risk putting so many in communities with populations of this size, exposing all to infrasound/low frequency noise? The adverse health effects including nausea, vertigo, blurred vision, headaches, as well as decreased property valuations and, in the worst-case scenario, having to move from our homes. The list goes on.

It’s not too late for us, but it’s too late for so many communities across our nation fighting the same battle! Help fight wind in the wrong places!

“Smell the money” has turned into ”I can smell, see, feel and hurt from the money!”
