Nine-turbine Gass Wind Farm plans submitted to council

The Galloway Gazette | 10 December 2014 | www.gallowaygazette.co.uk

The company behind a wind farm planned for land north east of Glenluce is holding a public information day next week.

WilloWind Energy Ltd has submitted a new planning application for the nine-turbine Gass Wind Farm after consultation with local community councils.

The company’s original plan had been for a 19-turbine farm on the site.

Commenting on the revised plan, Suki Atwal, a director of WilloWind Energy, said: “One of our priorities is to improve the level of community consultation on our projects and I believe that Gass now represents a scheme the community can be proud of.”

The company said a community benefit package of £5,000 for every MW consented is available.

Other information about WilloWind can be found online at www.willowindenergy.co.uk

The information day will be held on Monday in Glenluce Hall between 1pm and 5.30pm.
