A standing-room only crowd erupted into applause as the Foster Township zoning board denied a special exception for EDF Renewable Energy’s proposed wind farm project.
A hot button issue in the community for the past several months, the zoning board cited that the project was not similar or compatible with permitted land uses, and that the applicant failed to submit an appropriate site plan of the project, as required by Section 255 of a 2009 ordinance.
The Foster Township Planning Commission provided a written statement with the same findings.
The zoning board now has 45 days to file its written opinion of denial to the applicant. EDF will then have 30 days to appeal the decision if it so chooses.
