New York has committed $206 million to four large upstate clean energy projects including one in Franklin County.
The money from the state Energy Research and Development Authority will bolster renewable energy resources by supporting wind farms in western and northern New York, a new hydroelectric plant in the Mohawk Valley and an upgrade to a hydroelectric dam in the Hudson Valley.
The projects will add about 164 megawatts of new capacity.
