This wind turbine blade has been bent back like a spoon – despite being a colossal 44 metres long [Nordex N90, 2.5 MW].
It was the result of yesterday morning’s lightning storm which struck one of the 26 turbines at Little Cheyne Court near Brookland.
Neighbour Caroline Solly said: “I heard a giant crash of lighting at about 6am and then the whole earth seemed to rumble.
“When I went to look I saw a whole turbine blade bent over. It was incredible.”
The anti-wind farm pressure group Sombre (Save Our Marsh – Block Rural Exploitation) says these turbines should be kept at least 2km from properties.
Almost 80 homes were left without power due to the storms.
