Antelope County, NE leaders approve expansion of Prairie Breeze wind farm

More windmills will be dotting the landscape of Antelope County, Nebraska, after a decision by the county’s board of supervisors.

Tuesday morning, the board unanimously voted in favor of approving a permit for Prairie Breeze to build additional wind energy units in the county.

James Williams with Prairie Breeze, says they currently have a 200 megawatt wind farm in place. He says the decision by Antelope County will make it possible for Prairie Breeze to build an additional 125 megawatts worth of windmills.

Williams says work on the additional units will begin as soon as possible.
