Vestas wind tower lands on I-25 in Pueblo after trailer crashes

PUEBLO, Colo. – Interstate 25 is closed in Pueblo after a piece of a Vestas wind turbine tower fell off a trailer.
Pueblo Police said the Vestas transport trailer collided with median.
Photos from the scene showed the trailer on the concrete median and tower piece lying partially on the median and partially on the roadway.
I-25 was closed in both directions at milemarker 97, at Central Avenue, at 9:29 a.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. There is no word on a reopening time.
Vestas has three locations in Colorado in Colorado – Pueblo, Windsor and Brighton. Vestas Wind Systems manufactures, sells, installs and services wind turbines.
