By Steve Sabourin on September 22, 2014 | blackburnnews.com

A hearing in London this morning dealing with wind energy projects in Huron County.

A Stay Application been brought forward by community groups in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, SWEAR, and St. Columban, HEAT. If successfu the Stay Application will put a stop to further construction in the K2 and St. Columban projects until a decision has been reached in the Divisional Court. The Charter Challenge appeal is being led by human rights lawyer Julian Falconer.

Port Elgin’s Paul Kusker was at the London courthouse to support the initiative.

“There are plans to have them placed all along the shoreline from the Sarnia area right up Lake Huron, right up to the Bruce Pensinusla. So it’s going to impact our area quite a bit.”

Kusker runs the website quixoteslaststand.com, an anti-wind turbine website.

“People accuse us of being a NIMBY, not in my backyard. We are of the opinion that we don’t want it in anybody’s back yard.”

A full Divisional Court Hearing will be over held over three days starting November 17. The location of that hearing has yet to be determined.
