Wind turbine still up in the air

The Trustees of Reservations group still hasn’t decided whether to go ahead with a plan to build a 410-foot-tall wind turbine on its property at the top of Turkey Hill near the Hingham border, a spokesman said last week. Jim Younger, director of structural resources and technology for the nonprofit, said his group has two years to make the decision. The Trustees first proposed the approximately $6 million wind project in 2010, won town approval in 2011, and won a court appeal of that approval earlier this summer. “We are being methodical, having a lot of conversations with a lot of different audiences . . . about the options, opportunities, and responsibilities of all of us in promoting clean energy,” Younger said. He said he planned to talk with Cohasset’s Alternative Energy Committee at its Sept. 8 meeting.
