[More than 1500 letters against wind turbines]
Vertegenwoordigers van het actiecomité ‘Geen windmolens E19’ stapten vrijdagmiddag naar de gemeentehuizen in Kontich en Rumst met een pak bezwaarschriften onder hun arm. Eddy Niessen en Luc Van Dijck bezorgden 349 bezwaren tegen de millieuvergunning en 345 tegen de bouwvergunning aan milieuambtenaar Fried Happaerts. Frans Baes en Anne Steenackers namen respectievelijk 340 en 333 bezwaarschriften mee voor het gemeentebestuur van Kontich. Woordvoerder Philippe Hersleven schat het totaal aantal dan ook op meer dan vijftienhonderd. “Ik weet dat een aantal mensen hun brief rechtstreeks naar de gemeentehuizen bracht. Van onze advokaat weten we dat die nog meer dan honderd brieven aangetekend verzond. Rekening houdend met het feit dat nog tot maandagmiddag 1 september bezwaarschriften kunnen afgegeven worden, is het totaal aantal driemaal zo hoog dan wat we eerst hoopten.”
