Residents in Wyoming County have filed a $40 million lawsuit against the owner of the Orangeville wind farm, Invenergy.

A group of about 60 town residents filed the suit on August 1 in Wyoming County stating that the constant noise and vibrations cause sickness, soreness, lameness and disability.

The plaintiffs accuse Invenergy of violating the town’s 50-decibel noise ordinance and diminishing their property values.

Invenergy issued a statement last week saying it will vigorously fight what they say are unfounded claims.

The Orangeville Wind Farm has 58 turbines, each about 430-feet tall.
