Another wind farm proposal for Dalmellington

Credit:  Cumnock Chronicle | 21 Aug 2014 | www.cumnockchronicle.com ~~

Dalmellington is bracing itself for another wind farm proposal – the third in the last six months.

East Ayrshire Council will officially object to the development at Glenmount when they hold a Special Planning Meeting on Friday.

The Scottish Government will have the final say on the 19-turbine farm.

Ministers ignored EAC’s objection to Scottish Power’s Dersalloch development when they granted them permission to build 23 turbines at the site.

The proposal for South Kyle – where 50 wind turbines are planned – remains outstanding and a decision is likely to be made later this year.

Check out next week’s Chronicle to hear what was said at the meeting.
