Aug. 9, 2014 | kingston.wickedlocal.com

KINGSTON – The Board of Health will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, on proposed mitigation measures to address violations of state noise regulations by the Independence wind turbine.

The purpose of the meeting as advertised is to draft a mitigation order with Kingston Wind Independence, the turbine’s owner, and for “continued participation from all interested parties involved, including the state Department of Environmental Protection, the Green Energy Committee and town counsel.”

At a special July 24 Board of Health meeting, the public date was set to give everyone the opportunity to address the violations that DEP determined occurred during sound sampling undertaken by a consulting firm March 2 and 15 at 13 Schofield Road.

The hearing will be held in Room 200 on the second floor of the Kingston Town House on Evergreen Street.
