Tressady Wind Farm appeal dismissed – planning permission refused

The Northern Times | 06/08/2014 | www.northern-times.co.uk

An appeal by Wind Prospects Developments Ltd against the Highland Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for 13 wind turbines at Tressady, near Rogart, has today been dismissed.

Scottish Government reporter Allison Coard says she has taken into account the landscape and visual impact of the proposal; the impact on residential amenity; the impact on historic environment; and whether the impacts of the proposal are acceptable when balanced against the benefits.

She noted in particular the plan of cumulative wind farm development within 20 kilometres of he site, which includes the Kilbraur wind farm – 19 turbines at 115 metres in height – and the Gordonbush wind farm – 35 turbines of 110 metres.

An application for 15 turbines at Balnacoil is currently subject to appeal.
