Question: The turbine at St. Cloud VA Health System still stands locked down and not functioning. Is it ever going to be either repaired or removed?
This question comes from Eric Coleman, who sent it to us through email. This is our second question about the wind turbine at the VA.
My colleague Mark Sommerhauser addressed this in March. The $2.3 million-wind turbine has not worked since August of 2012. It is unclear if and when it will be fixed. Our report found that the VA has lost $325,000 in potential savings for power because the wind turbine has not worked.
