Resident alleges conflict of interest in Armow wind deal

By Ken Kilpatrick on July 10, 2014 | blackburnnews.com

Kincardine council heard more opposition to the Armow Wind Energy Agreement, even though it’s a done deal.

Karen Breitback of Kincardine said council has placed itself in a conflict of interest position, between sticking to the wind energy agreement and working for the well being of impacted residents.

She feels the agreement that was made into a bylaw will restrict future actions that council could take. She agreed there was a lot of discussion before hand, but not enough public consultation.

Mayor Larry Kraemer suggested the people making the allegations are clearly opposed to any wind development. He added he did not believe they represent every person in the municipality, and stated that he didn’t really know what their point was. Kraemer insisted that everything has been done properly.
