Time to review wind power initiatives in Oklahoma
In recent years, Oklahoma lawmakers have authorized multiple tax incentives to encourage wind power development. The Oklahoma Property Rights Association compellingly argues that these incentives do little more than throw taxpayer money down a politically correct hole. Members of the association believe wind farm regulation should be increased to reduce negative impact on adjoining property owners. My family lives on a farm half-way between Canton and Beresford, approximately 6 miles from Newton Hills State Park. This farm has been in my husband’s family since 1882. Fears raised over Navitus wind farm plan
Concerns have been raised about the impact a planned wind farm could have on Weymouth and Portland’s economy. Councillors on Weymouth and Portland Borough council’s planning and traffic committee discussed their submission to the Planning Inspectorate in respect to the proposed Navitus Bay wind park. Councillors up in arms over site for turbines bid
Plans for two wind turbines near a Northumberland village are causing concern. Urban Wind Ltd has put forward an application to install two Northern Power Systems (NPS) structures, 35metres to blade tip, on land south-west of Watch Hill farm in the parish of Whalton. Green energy cost hits record high as expensive turbines built at sea
The cost of generating green electricity has hit a record high as subsidies are handed to expensive offshore wind farms and household solar panels, new figures show. The annual bill for consumers to subsidise renewable technologies has soared to more than £2.5bn as more turbines are built and households install panels on their roofs. Wildlife officials want to talk about eagle permits
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced it will engage in public comment as it works to revise a rule governing how permits are issued for wind turbine develop. The service released an evaluation of its new eagle management objectives to the Federal Register pertaining to the building and permitting of wind turbine farms. Eminent domain measure gets final approval
Crisfield officials gave final approval to an ordinance giving them the authority to use eminent domain to acquire property on Seventh Street that sits in the middle of a planned wind turbine project at the sewage treatment plant. The measure is necessary to create a buffer zone around the turbine, said city attorney Michael Sullivan. Turbine study points to infrasound
A recent report from the United Kingdom is shedding new light on low frequency sound dispersion and the overall impact on nearby residents and the environment. Infrasound is lower than 20-Hertz in frequency, the “normal” limit of human hearing. Grey-Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Hazel Lynn, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the document suggests Health Canada and similar organizations should consider the effects of infrasound in regards to wind farms. Wind turbines: Enough is enough say East Yorkshire villagers
Villagers in the county with the highest density of turbines in England are preparing to march to say “enough is enough.” Residents in East Yorkshire are reporting health problems because of noise from the largest turbines, which they say is turning the county into an “industrial wasteland”.
