An application to build a wind farm at Latteragh has been referred to An Bord Pleanála.
Archai Resources Ltd is seeking permission to provide up to four wind turbine generators and ancillary works in the townlands of Ballyconnor, Tiermoyle, Knockacraheen and Millbrook. The proposed turbines would stand 132 metres to blade tip and would have total generating capacity of 12MW.
North Tipperary Co Council recently refused permission for the proposal, which it ruled would be “seriously injurious to the visual amenities of the area”.
Archai Resources has now appealed the local planning authority’s decision to An Bord Pleanála, which is to make it ruling on the case by October 13th.
