A group has formed to oppose the big wind farm planned near Canton and Beresford in Southern Lincoln county. Dakota Plains Energy plans to build 500 wind turbines.
WE-CARE spokeswoman Winnie Peterson says the project should be built in a less populated area. As she puts it: the wind blows all over South Dakota. The group has concerns about noise levels and about the effect on people and animals from so-called stray voltage generated by the turbines.
Peterson invites you to vist the group’s website: www.we-caresd.org
