LUCERNE VALLEY • The newly formed Mojave Communities Conservation Collaboration to monitor and oppose renewable energy projects in rural neighborhoods will hold an open meeting Saturday.

The group will gather from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pioneer Park, 32269 Old Woman Springs Road in Lucerne Valley. Topics will include the Coolwater-Lugo Transmission Project’s Desert View Substation and the North Peak and Granite Mountain wind energy projects, which are concerns under the group’s Save Our Skyline campaign.

Organizers advise those attending to bring a lawn chair and lunch.
