Looking for answers on windfarm bid

A plan to launch a wind farm in Newton Mearns has been met with scepticism from across the main parties.
Labour, Conservative and SNP MSPs have all called for answers from the Lifetime Energy.
The application has been submitted while an application for a waste plant by Lifetime Recycling Village Ltd remains live for the same site, at Loganswell.
West of Scotland MSP Stewart Maxwell hopes this proposal signals the end of plans to bring an incinerator to East Ren “once and for all”.
He told The Extra: “The incinerator has been widely rejected by the community. We deserve to know whether the threat is gone for good.
“We need to hear all the facts about the proposed wind farm. I’m keen to hear from constituents.”
Conservative counterpart Jackson Carlaw has expressed doubt about whether the wind farm is necessary.
He said: “East Renfrewshire is hardly short of wind turbines with Whitelee already being Europe’s largest wind farm and set for yet further expansion.
“ Elsewhere, Neilston has a wind farm with extension applications pending.
“However, I shall review any proposals carefully and in detail with the community before making any judgement.’
Labour’s Eastwood MSP Ken Macintosh added: “Given the history of this site, with the proposed incinerator, I am very suspicious of the motivations behind this proposal.
“What the community wants to hear is that the plans for the incinerator have been completely dropped, and an assurance that there is no threat to this area in the future.”
