Does public want wind farms in National Forests?

Tri-City Herald | April 28, 2014 | www.tri-cityherald.com

The In Focus column on April 20 concerned the U.S. Forest Service supporting wind farm construction on National Forest lands.

If you put your ear to the ground, you will hear some strange noises. That’s probably Teddy Roosevelt turning over in his grave multiple times. As president, Teddy fought long and hard for national parks and national forests to preserve the wild and beautiful places for future generations.

Why not submit this issue to a vote of the people? After all, these are “national” lands, not the domain of big business. Let’s hear what the public has to say about this idea. And, by the way, it would be interesting to identify the federal employees who are behind this idea. I don’t think they were acting in the public interest.
