The use of wind farms in Ohio has been a growing debate and now it’s hitting home in northwest Ohio.
Iberdrola renewables has plans to develop new wind farms in van wet and lipstick. A town hall meeting was held at Lincoln high school to educate community members on the subject. The company held a presentation and bought along a panel of experts to field questions.
They also discussed long-term benefits environmentally and financially.
Patrons are still skeptical on the 6 year subsidized time frame and fear that the plan will cost them more than what is being projected. Iberdrola is currently operating a 152 wind turbine farm in blue creek northwest of van wet and southwest of Spalding county.
