Board will not act to protect residents

Kokomo Tribune | April 13, 2014 | www.kokomotribune.com

I just can’t believe the commissioners of Tipton County do not want to protect the health and safety of their citizens.

Mr. Heron was asked to shut down the wind turbines at Windfall because of the second broken blade in two months. He said, “I don’t have the authority to do so.” At the Monday morning meeting, Mr. Heron asked the county attorney, Mr. John Brooke, if as commissioner he had the authority to shut them down. The attorney gave no answer.

It is obvious their job is to protect the health and safety of their citizens.

Fellow citizens, the commissioners exercise their authority in a snow emergency by shutting down access to Tipton. In a very dry summer, they pass a ban on burning anything outside. This is all for our health and safety.

They are not serving the citizens of Tipton by not shutting down the wind turbines in Windfall. They are protecting their pro-wind friends from a loss of income. It is time we put in people who have your safety in mind. It’s time to vote on May 6 for the anti-wind candidates who are sponsored by Tipton County Citizens for Responsible Government.

I don’t want politicians like this determining what is safe for my family and the families of Windfall. What about you?
