Penicuik woman wins leaflet battle

Midlothian Advertiser | 05 March 2014 | www.midlothianadvertiser.co.uk

A Penicuik wind farm protestor has won a national battle over misleading information used in pro-development literature.

Celia Hobbs has had her complaint to the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) upheld over a leaflet distributed by West Coast Energy.

The leaflet, circulated last year to residents in relation to a proposed wind turbine development at Romanno Bridge, claimed there was no clear relationship between wind farms and house prices.

Mrs Hobbs, a member of the Penicuik Environment Protection Association, had raised similar objections to the ASA when Wind Prospect Development distributed a leaflet in relation to its Mount Lothian wind farm plans in 2012.
