A proposed wind turbine development is getting renewed attention in North Perth. Invenergy Canada has resubmitted an application to the Ministry of the Environment for the proposed Conestogo Wind Power Partnership. The first application was deemed incomplete and returned last fall.
Councillor Warren Howard encourages opponents to remain vigilante especially considering fewer but possibly larger turbines are now involved which could mean “bigger problems”. He claims the latest proposal does not meet the requirements of the company’s feed-in-tariff contract so it should not be accepted as complete.
A resolution has been unanimously passed by North Perth Council calling on the Minister of the Environment to reject Invenergy Canada’s latest submission as incomplete.
