On February 23, John Feehery, Red State Renewable Alliance Executive Director, stated wind energy should be supported because it is both affordable and employees 80,000 Americans.
First, if wind energy is so affordable, why did Mr. Feehery asked for Federal Government handouts through tax credits in the same letter? If wind energy is truly affordable, then develop it without corporate welfare. Also, if employment is a good way to measure preferred energy sources (Feehery’s argument, not mine), then coal energy employees 174,00 Americans and oil and gas energy employs 569,000 Americans, so they should be preferred much more than wind energy.
