Provincie geeft negatief advies voor windmolens

EREMBODEGEM – De buurtbewoners van industrieterrein Zuid 3 in Erembodegem halen voorlopig opgelucht adem, want de provincie geeft een negatief advies voor de komst van twee windmolens in hun achtertuin.
De milieuvergunning die de stad al toekende, moet volgens de provinciale milieu-ambtenaar worden vernietigd. Het is de deputatie van Oost-Vlaanderen die eind deze maand een definitieve beslissing neemt. ‘Ik kan me vinden in dat advies’, zegt schepen van Milieu Iwein De Koninck (CD&V). ‘De provincie wil daar eerst zelf een onderzoek voeren naar de eventuele komst van windturbines.’ Valéry Van Malderen, oprichter van het actiecomité Tegenwind Erembodegem, is tevreden. ‘Heel goed nieuws’, zegt hij. ‘Normaal gezien volgt de deputatie het advies op. Zodra het zeker is dat de milieuvergunning vernietigd wordt, ga ik met schepen De Koninck praten. Er moet een voorschrift komen dat verbiedt om windmolens in te planten in dichtbevolkt gebied als hier. Onze schepen mag zich ook eens achter zijn burgers scharen.’
