Tove Valley windfarm will not go ahead

The Tove Action Group (TAG) have written to AboutMyArea/NN12 following news from local MP Andrea Leadsom who has been working on behalf of her constituents who are against the Tove Valley Wind Farm.

“The Tove Action Group is delighted by the news that Andrea Leadsom MP has received from Gamesa announcing that they will not submit a planning application for the wind farm in the Tove valley.

“This ends a lengthy period of worry and uncertainty for thousands of local people, and at last we can move on without this hanging over us. We hope that the fact that Gamesa concluded from their review that “the project is not feasible” will also mean other developers do not now think they can try to move into the valley.

“This news comes a couple of weeks after the High Court decision quashing the planning permission for the Helmdon wind farm on Spring Farm Ridge, and seems to indicate that the mood is changing and onshore wind farms are being recognised as wasteful and inefficient. Northamptonshire is getting a bit of a reprieve from its status as wind farm capital of the country!

“TAG is extremely grateful to Andrea Leadsom for her campaigning against inappropriate wind farms in her constituency. We are also grateful to all members of the public who have supported us and helped oppose the Tove Valley development.”
