VVD wil geen windmolens in buurt van Schijf

RUCPHEN – De Rucphense fractie van de VVD wil niet dat het gebied rond de Oude Buisse Heide de komende jaren wordt verstoord door windmolens. De Belgische organisatie Mega Windy, een vennootschap bestaande uit vijf lokale ondernemers, doet een onderzoek naar de haalbaarheid van vier of vijf windmolens langs de grensstreek.
Volgens de plannen zouden er bij Horendonk ter hoogte van de Ellewaardweg en de Achtmaalsebaan windmolens moeten komen. Een woordvoerder van Mega Windy laat weten dat het nog wel enige tijd kan duren voordat het zover is. “Het onderzoek loopt nog. In de loop van dit jaar hopen we een aanvraag de deur uit te doen.”
Dezelfde organisatie heeft in december 2012 windmolens in gebruik genomen in het gebied Essen/Kalmthout. Die molens voorzien zo’n 4.000 huishoudens van groene stroom. De Rucphense VVD vreest dat met windmolens de uitstraling van de ecologische zone zwaar wordt aangetast. Dat is onacceptabel vindt de VVD. De liberalen roepen het Rucphense college daarom op te voorkomen dat de plannen doorgaan.
