West Grey will continue it’s battle with a wind turbine company in the months ahead.
Nextera plans up to 14 wind turbines east of Durham.
West Grey Council wants to slap fees on the company that include a 100 thousand dollar bond per wind turbine.
Nextera took that to the Ontario Energy Board. The O-E-B sided with Nextera. Mayor Kevin Eccles says they’ll appeal the O-E-B ruling. He says relations between West Grey and Nextera are not amicable.
Eccles says other issues this year will be the hiring of a new C-E-O for West Grey. He adds he’ll likely be in the running for another term as mayor in the municipal election this fall.
