Huron East council dealt with three bylaws regarding wind energy projects at this week’s meeting.
The first vote was on a road user agreement with St. Columban Wind Energy, and council had no choice but to pass that as part of the Green Energy Act.
The other two dealt with accepting money in the form of grants for the St. Columban Wind Energy project and from Nextera for the Varna Wind project.
After much discussion, council voted to accept about 55-thousand dollars a year over twenty years from the Varna Wind project. But councillors voted against accepting 115-thousand dollars a year over twenty years for the St. Columban project.
