Plans for 130m wind turbines at Hutton Cranswick, near Driffield

The Press | 9th December 2013 | www.yorkpress.co.uk

Three 130-metre turbines could be built as part of a new wind farm in East Yorkshire.

Plans for the Rotsea Wind Farm at Hutton Cranswick, near Driffield, have been sent to East Riding of Yorkshire Council by agents acting for Renewable Energy Systems UK and Ireland.

The scheme also includes a communications mast and a compound for monitoring equipment on land near Watton Carrs Road. The site is about three kilometres from Hutton Cranswick and is currently farmland.

The wind farm is expected to take about eight months to build if permission is given.

It would operate between 6am and 8pm from Monday to Saturday and would last 25 years, after which a decision would be made on whether to keep, remove or replace the turbines.
