Met mast should go say villagers

Leighton Buzzard Observer | 09 December 2013 | www.leightonbuzzardonline.co.uk

Residents living near Dorcas Lane, outside Stoke Hammond, are demanding the removal of a contentious meteorological mast which has outstayed its welcome.

The mast was erected with two years planning permission, to collect data for a planned wind farm. The turbine scheme has been refused hand a public inquiry is expected.

Now applicants Force9 Energy want to extend the Met mast’s stay until October 2015 but protesters claim they should have collected enough data and are calling for its removal.

The plan will be discussed on Thursday at the Aylesbury Vale development control committee.
