Residents sue over Wind Turbine Syndrome

Robert Hulen has been living along FM 2099 for 17 years and the last year hasn’t been much different even though there are several wind turbines near his home.

That’s apparently not the case for several other residents in Willacy County who have filed a lawsuit against the companies who placed the turbines in this area saying they are too close to their homes and too loud.

Attorney Michael Salinas is representing those residents and says, “When the companies that constructed the wind turbines went to the county commissioners and discussed this project, they never informed the commissioners or the public of some of the negative impact of the wind turbines, which include homeowners’ loss of value in their property and potential noise. Our clients are also experiencing loss of sleep and sympathetic nervous system symptoms such as increased heart rate and anxiety. Our clients have suffered numerous damages for which we are suing to recover.”

Robert has several of them flanking his country home where only the cows are noisy. He doesn’t think a lawsuit is necessary, at least not from where he’s standing.
