Kingston turbine bylaw hearing continued

KINGSTON – The public hearing on a proposed zoning bylaw change setting limits on how much time shadow flicker should be allowed to impact homes near future wind turbines has been continued to 7:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.

The Planning Board may consider limiting flicker to a certain number of hours per year or could limit flicker effect to a certain number of hours a day

Town Planner Tom Bott said he continues working with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center on the development of a revised flicker study, having identified 60 properties for further study. He said these properties experience flicker more than 30 hours a year, according to the results of the previous study.

Greenway meeting postponed

A scheduled appointment with developer Mary O’Donnell for a presentation on her Greenway farm project, specifically her plans for a fish farm, was postponed at O’Donnell’s request because the plan is not ready yet, Bott said.

Master plan to get an update

With four firms showing interest in working with the town to update Kingston’s master plan, the Planning Board is moving closer to starting the interview process. Bott said he anticipates scheduling interviews with four or five firms.
