Wind farm hurts in several ways

Berkshire Eagle | 11/14/2013 | www.berkshireeagle.com

Your editorial of Nov. 6 on Peru’s consideration of permitting an enormous wind farm missed the point. Never mind “pseudoscience,” there can be no question that the presence of 500-foot tall towers with moving parts, incessant noise (no matter how modest) and flashing lights will significantly harm the environment and property values near the turbines, while inhibiting further home-building to support the town’s property tax base.

My family owns a house and 14 acres that run to within 100 feet of one of the planned turbines. How will my neighbors and I be compensated for the ruination of our now peaceful local environment?
