EverPower not asking to extend permit

An EverPower Wind Holdings Inc. official has confirmed the company will not file a request to extend its permit for the Allegany wind farm project.

EverPower recently issued a press release in response to comments made by Allegany Town Board officials at a meeting in late October. During that meeting, Town Supervisor John Hare said that EverPower had decided to pull back from construction of the proposed wind farm in the Chipmonk and Knapp Creek areas of town in 2014. Company officials had stated that the delay for the 29-wind turbine farm was due to the rising cost of equipment and because it wasn’t “economically feasible to proceed with the project at this time.”
