Judge holds hearing on Clifton wind farm case again

Supporters and opponents of a wind farm project in Clifton went before a superior court judge in Bangor Wednesday.

In May, the judge ordered the town planning board to review height and sound issues for the $25 million project, then come back to court with the findings.

Two years ago, the town gave developers a permit to build five wind turbines on Pisgah Mountain, but Clifton residents Peter and Julie Beckford are appealing that.

The Beckfords say the turbines would be too close to cabins on their land and would exceed town noise limits.

The developers disagree.

The head of the planning board tells TV5 the judge gave no indication when he might issue a decision in the case.
