MOROCCO – The Newton County Council and Commissioners met for their regular meetings on Oct. 21. The council approved a preliminary Economic Revitalization Area resolution for Duke Energy, which will be asking for a tax abatement on 60 to 80 wind turbines to be constructed in the county.

The council meets on the third Monday of each month at 8 a.m. at the government center in Morocco.
