Michael MHK Alf Cannan says unanimous opposition to wind farms at a public meeting last night proves the government needs to come up with new planning guidelines.
The meeting was called to discuss Prowind UK’s plans to put a turbine factory powered by five of the structures in Jurby.
But after the proposals were scotched – at last on the planned airfield site – the hundred people present voiced their opposition to onshore wind power in general.
Mr Cannan says the company’s plans have started a new debate about renewable energy:
