Members of the Nenagh Wind Turbine Opposition Group (NWTOG) are convening a public meeting on Friday, October 18th at 8pm in the Abbey Court Hotel to discuss pertaining to the proposed construction of a wind turbine at the Proctor & Gamble manufacturing plant in Nenagh.

At the meeting members of the NWTOG will invite members of the public to discuss the planning application made by Proctor & Gamble for the proposed wind turbine at Cooloholloga, Nenagh.

The meeting intends to inform the local residents about the proposal, the potential effects it could have on them and what steps can be taken should members of the public wish to object to the planning application.

In a press statement released to the media this week the NWTOG states that: “Many residents of Nenagh are still unaware fully of the proposed wind turbine at the Proctor & Gamble plant. Where people have become aware, they have been absolutely shocked at the sheer scale of the proposal, being 131 metres to the tip of the blades. This is over 4.3 times the height of Nenagh Castle”.

Prior to the meeting at the Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh on Friday, October 18th the Nenagh Wind Turbine Opposition Group plans to deliver leaflets to homes in Nenagh which are aimed at expressing the concerns of the local residents and will include a scaled drawing of the proposed wind turbine in relation to Nenagh Castle.

The NWTOG is urging members of the public to attend the meeting on Friday, October 18th.
