A coalition of anti-wind turbine organizations is planning to shut down a portion of the 402 Saturday October 19th to protest what it calls government indifference and lack of consultation.
Enniskillen Mayor Kevin Marriott says unwilling host municipalities have to do something to get the provincial government’s attention.
The blockade, still being organized, could see the eastbound 402 from the Forest on-ramp to Strathroy congested with everything from tractors to manure spreaders from across Ontario.
The number of communities now on record as being “unwilling hosts” has risen to 71 with the most recent additions being south Dundas and Bruce County.
