The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help after nearly 4,000 pounds of copper was stolen from a wind farm in Orangeville.

Deputies say large-diameter copper has been taken on three separate occasions since June from the Wind Farm Power Station on Centerline Road, which is currently under construction.

Many of the lines are energized which are extremely dangerous.

The sheriff’s office says area scrap yards should report anyone suspiciously selling large amounts of copper.

A $1,000 reward has been offered for the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s). Anyone with information is urged to call the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office (585) 786-8989.
