Councillor claims stranded wind turbine was going to be erected at Loughderryduff without planning permission

A Donegal County Councillor has claimed that a wind turbine, which became trapped while being transported on the Maas to Ardara road, was going to be erected without planning permission.

It is understood that the turbine, which is worth over 1 million euro, was to replace a turbine which fell over in high winds on the Loughderryduff wind farm.

Councillor Seamus O’Domhnaill claims North West Energy intended to erect the turbine without planning permission – the company has so far declined to comment.
