The Municipality of Barrington has accepted a recommendation from the Planning Advisory Committee to proceed with the approval process for a development agreement with Watts Wind Energy.
Once finalized, the development agreement will clear the way for the construction of two wind turbines on lands east of Bear Point. The 3.2 megawatt project is valued at $14 million.
Before final approval is given, Council will hold a public hearing at the Sept. 23 meeting.
“There has been a lot of opportunity for public input,” said Warden Eddie Nickerson, noting the process has been “open and transparent.”
