Developers have dramatically withdrawn a planning application for Hill of Braco windfarm, north of Hatton, just days before it was due to go before councillors on the Cuchan Area Committee.
PNE Wind UK say the decision is to give them further time to consider comments by key stakeholders and local residents.
The proposals, for an eight-turbine windfarm, have been the subject of more than two years of scientific studies and community consultation.
In response to questions raised by statutory consultees, the plans have been withdrawn from Aberdeenshire Council’s planning system to ensure that the company can continue discussions to address key questions regarding the proposals.
The Hill of Braco application has attracted more than 1,000 objections.
